Нет Привет

Behind the song

Нет Привет

Her phone has plenty to say tonight. A stranger wants to sell her a car, another has found the perfect apartment, and a third is certain she needs a loan. The only conversation she actually wants is the one sitting quietly beneath a read receipt.

She comes out of the metro with an answer ready for everyone. No car. No apartment. No miraculous new life paid for in instalments. Each call gets a sharper comeback, until even she starts laughing at the absurdity of being so easy to reach and so difficult to answer. Between the jokes, her thumb finds the same chat. Still nothing.

A friend sends a voice message from a room full of music. In the background someone is singing the wrong words with complete confidence. For the first time all evening, she listens to something twice without trying to work out what it means. She sends back a laugh, asks where they are, and changes direction at the crossing.

Inside, she puts the phone face down. Nobody has suddenly become more considerate; no explanation has arrived. But the next chorus begins, her friends make room, and she joins them before she can invent another reason to wait. Later, the screen lights up at the edge of the table. An apology, another offer, a simple hello? The song leaves it there. This time, whoever is calling can wait until the chorus ends.
